Abstract

Trees play an important role in maintaining biodiversity, absorbing rainwater, improving environmental quality, and supporting human health and comfort, including in learning activities. However, in many areas, trees often show symptoms of damage caused by pest and disease attacks, which can reduce their aesthetic value, disrupt ecological functions, and endanger the surrounding environment. This study aims to identify the types of pests and diseases, as well as determine the intensity of their attacks in the Universitas Kuningan campus environment. The method used is descriptive quantitative through census observation and Attack Intensity (AI) analysis. This study recorded a total of 385 individual trees consisting of 48 tree species in the campus area. The study identified 12 pest species and found 5 types of diseases. In general, the intensity of pest and disease attacks was categorized as low, with AI values < 5%. The Lymantria sp. caterpillar had the highest AI among pests at 2.08%, attacking seven tree species, while sooty mold disease showed the highest AI among diseases, at 1.49%.
